Foster Care Program

Do you want to make a difference in the life of a child? Please help by becoming a foster parent!

We would love for you to prayerfully consider partnering with the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home to become licensed as foster parents providing Godly homes for children in need.

The Foster Care Program connects precious, little children with loving parents.

Children in foster care often come from tragic circumstances of abuse, neglect and abandonment, and depending on their personal story, they are placed in care for either short-term or long-term periods. While children are in foster care, their families often work to overcome the problems that caused the children to be removed from the home. When possible, the children are reunited with their parents. In other cases, foster children go on to be placed in permanent adoptive homes.

Hundreds of children are waiting in shelters for a family to love and care for them. The job of a foster parent is not easy, but can be one of the most rewarding experiences. Families often say they are greatly encouraged as they watch young boys and girls grow and thrive within their homes.

You can help bring a child from a life of crisis to a life of belonging and love. You can truly make a difference in the life of a child or several children in the ministry of foster parenting.

We are seeking adults who have a sense of calling to become foster parents. We are looking for caring, Christian adults who will open up their home to a child, and when possible, to multiple children to provide them with safety, security, and love. Once licensed, the Children’s Home continues to work closely with all foster parents as necessary to support them in their role as foster parents.

Foster parents play a critical role in the care and development of abused, neglected, and orphaned children. Being a foster parent is a vital ministry to precious children who often come from tragic circumstances. Foster care placements can either be short-term or long-term depending on the unique circumstances of the child.

The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home Foster Care Program understands and appreciates the difficult task that foster parents are asked to accomplish. We want to assure you that at all times you will be treated with dignity and respect by our staff and that we will be with you every step of the way!
