ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

It is important to incorporate a consistent schedule of arrival and departure for your child because it helps provide a smooth transition to school.

When you arrive, please sign your child in on the daily sign in sheet and walk your child all the way into the classroom and make sure that the teacher sees both you and your child before you leave. This is important both for safety reasons and in order to give you and the teacher the chance to communicate any messages or changes for the day.

Departure times are important too. Please pick up your child at the scheduled time, and again make sure you take time for communication with staff members. Sign your child out on the daily sign in sheet. Your full signature is required on sign-in / sign-out sheets each day for every child. This is important for the safety of your child and in order for VPK children to receive state payment. Log in and out on the Pro-Care system.

As part of our educational program students ages three and above occasionally attend field trips related to educational topics they are studying. Every field trip has a separate permission slip that must be signed by a guardian. All parents are notified in writing well in advance of any trip and must sign the permission slip specifically for that trip in order for your child to attend. Parents are always welcome to join us on field trips or any activity. All parents must notify the childcare office of any change in pick up arrangements. Unless notified otherwise, in writing, we will release children ONLY to the parent or guardian who has contracted with us. The staff will not let a child leave the program with anyone who is under 18 years of age or who is not listed on the enrollment form as an authorized pick-up person. A photo identification must be shown by the person picking your child up. (Driver’s Licenses, etc.) Florida United Methodist Children's Home's Childcare Center reserves the right to refuse to release a child to anyone who appears to be intoxicated or for any reason to be unable to provide for the safety of that child.

The Center offers a comprehensive program designed to meet the needs of all children. The teachers prepare daily lesson plans and every classroom, including Infants, has a schedule and a routine that they follow with appropriate variety and contrast. Children feel more secure and learn better when they have consistent and continuous care. FOR THIS REASON WE ASK THAT ALL CHILDREN ARRIVE BY 9:00 a.m. Late arrival makes preparation for daily activities difficult for teachers, is disruptive for the other students and for meal preparation by the food service department.
